It can be difficult to choose a juicer, what with the multitude of options that are available out there. This is a good thing sure, but at the same time it can make the process of shopping for a juicer confusing and quite frustrating. Especially if you have never owned a juicer before, you will no doubt be intimated by the wealth of juicers staring back at you from off the shelves.

Everyone wants a high quality, durable and affordable juicer, one that is also aesthetically appealing so that they can leave it out on the countertop, especially since it will probably be being used on a regular basis. If this is what you are looking for, your best bet is going to be to go with an Oscar juicer.

Why Oscar?

There are many reasons as to why you should choose an Oscar juicer. One of the biggest reasons that consumers love Oscar juicers is because of how affordable they are. Sure they are not as luxurious as some of the higher priced juicers out there, but they are still very functional and versatile but with an affordable price tag, which is nice.

There is also quite an extensive Oscar juicer line, so you definitely have a lot of variety and will able to find the perfect juicer for you and your home, depending on the particular features you are looking for.

With an Oscar juicer you will be able to maximize the benefits of your juicing by giving your body optimum goodness. Let’s look at the Oscar VitalMax 900 for instance, which is one of their best selling models.

This Oscar juicer is the latest model to be released, and which quickly became the most popular. Not only is it around 20% more efficient in juicer extraction than all the previous models offered by the Oscar line, but as well the juice is notably pulp free which is the next most important quality after it being a living juicer.

You can find the Oscar line at almost all kitchen appliance and other retailers, but you can also shop online through the Oscar website, if this is more convenient for you. This may also be a better idea because this way you will be able to more extensively and thoroughly check out the different models that are available and end up choosing just the right juicer for you and your needs.

The most important thing is that you are taking steps towards living a healthier life, and by owning a juicer you will be able to provide your body with the nutrients that it needs to strive.

There is a lot about medication to the eye that seems to make people cringe with fear and it is generally about how the eye medication is applied. Although some people have a problem with fear of possible burning or irritation that would come from the medications, the likelihood of that actually occurring is very slim. But the reason that most people fear having to go through eye medication treatments is because they do not like the little bottle of dropper coming near their eyes as they feel like they are going to be poked out.

But a lot of these people already wear contacts and they have no problem with sticking their fingers into their eyes to put the contacts in and to take them out. So, there are many companies who have decided that medicated contact lenses may be the way to go. This may help make sure that people do not just skip out on their eye medication or stop taking it too soon, which can cause problems depending on what was being treated through the use of the medication. The idea behind the medicated contact lenses is that you place the medication on the contact lenses and then you place the contact lenses in your eyes.

Side Effects

There is still the risk of a few side effects from placing the medicated contact lenses in your eyes but no one really knows for sure what exactly the problems could be as most people who have tried it and it worked out fine for them. If you are one of the people who are afraid to use eyedroppers and you know that with droppers, you really will not get the correct amount of medication, speak with your eye care specialist about medicated contact lenses.

He or she will be able to talk in depth with you about the pros and cons of it and will also be able to address any fears or concerns you have with droppers or the medicated contact lenses themselves. There is a lot to gain by taking up on what science has to offer and without trying something new, you may be missing out on a lot of good stuff, including getting the right amount of medication to your eye. Your eyes are important so you should speak with your doctor about the use of medicated contact lenses in order to make sure that they are given every chance possible to make the best outcome possible.

Contact lenses are great inventions that are steadily replacing glasses because of their exceptional convenience and esthetic value. The contacts are normally attached on the cornea of the eye and their use is completely harmless and painless. On the contrary, using contacts can make your life much easier, i.e. in sports, dancing, or when you are too conscious of how you look wearing glasses.

Learning How to Remove Contact Lenses Correctly

There are three major types of lenses depending upon their use, cost and quality: soft lenses which are made of very soft plastic, the hard contact lenses which are also known as GP or rigid Gas Permeable and lastly there are the semi-hard lenses. Before you learn how to remove contact lenses you need to learn how to put them on first.

Wash your hands with soap and then running water for a long time. It is important that your hands should be clean before you touch the lenses because the slightest impurity stuck on it can cause massive irritation or infection in the eye. Now, open your eyes wide and look at one or other side while slightly pushing in the lens with the concave part on the inside into the eye. As soon as it gets stuck to the eye, close you eyes and keep them closed for a little while to allow the tears if any, to run down. Be careful, sometimes your lenses could get washed out along with the tears.

At the end of the day before you go to sleep you should remove the lenses, clean them and store them in their little boxes dipped in the recommended solution. This would keep them soft and pliable for the next day’s use.

It is easy to learn how to remove contact lenses provided you are patient and you practice the move for a couple of times. What you need to do is look down and open your eyes wide. With impeccably clean hands you grab very gently the contact lens from the eye (use your thumb ad forefinger) and pull. If everything is okay the lens would come into your hand without any problem.

How To Remove Contact Lenses When The Lens Is Stuck To The Eye

There is a simple technique on how to remove contact lenses when they are stuck to the eyes. Sit down in a very comfortable chair with your head thrown back. Take the recommended eye drops and add a few drops to the eyes, say about 3-5 should be just about sufficient. Close your eyes and allow the liquid swirl behind the closed eye lids. As the eye drop would permeate the eye lens, you could easily remove it through the steps described a little earlier.

All equipment in the world needs proper management. Whenever you purchase something, be it expensive or not, you should know how to tend to that equipment properly. Some systems need cleaning every month while others require you to change specific parts form time to time. Such is true with an air purifier air filter – replacement parts will always be substituted with new ones to enable the machine to work its best.

An air cleaner filter replacement can be found in any home appliance store. They can range from cheap to very expensive. The choice is always yours, but you have to know the advantages and disadvantages of purchasing these replacement parts from different sources. Below is a list of resources where you can buy your air cleaner filter replacement.

Air Cleaner Filter Replacements From Your Manufacturer

An air cleaner filter replacement can be purchased from the manufacturer of your product. If you are currently using one brand, then you can purchase the air filter from the same trade name that you are using. The advantage of purchasing the same brand is that you have experience with the reliability of that product already. You know how to mange it at home and you are comfortable using it because you have been with the same product for quite some time. The only disadvantage is its cost. Whenever you purchase from a name brand manufacturer, the costs are usually higher. This is most especially true when the current product that you own is of good quality. However, if the benefits are all worth it, then you can dismiss your thoughts on the cost and go for quality instead.

Air Cleaner Filter Replacements From The Internet

Another source for your air cleaner filter replacement is the Internet. You will find a list of items that are much cheaper than buying directly from the manufacturer. There are also discounts on the shipment and some even deliver the items for free. However, the only disadvantage when you use the Internet is that you cannot be sure of the quality of a product. Although the cost are lower, you have to really make sure that the item you’re going to buy is worth both the price and risk.

Air Cleaner Filter Replacements From Other Sources

Air cleaner filter replacements can be bought from other trade names that are also good enough to work on your old product. You can find a lot of substitute air filters in case your old one has worn down already. Aside from cheaper prices, you will be able to try other items that are good in quality. However, you have to take a risk in doing so because you haven’t experienced using the product yet. The bottom line is, you always have to make a good choice in picking what’s best for you. You will never know an item unless you try it and unless you have been with it for quite some time.

You can really put your juicer to great use if you have some delicious recipes to follow, so if you love juicing and want to get some fantastic ideas, here are a few of the top juicer recipies.

Carrot Juice

One of the favorite juicer recipies is carrot juice. This is the most commonly made juice, because it is so easy and also because of the multitudinous health benefits it offers. All you need is a couple of carrots, and you juice them one at a time, until you have the amount of juice you need.

You should not peel the carrots first because then you will be taking away most of their nutritional value, and some juicers will even clean the food for you so you may not have to worry about that part either. Just make sure that you feed the carrots into the juicer at a steady pace, and never push them through too hard.

Celery Juice

Another of the most favored juicer recipies is celery juice. For this recipe you just need a couple of celery stalks, and you want to cut each stalk into a few different pieces, otherwise they will be too large to fit through the juicer and may end up breaking it.

Feed the stalks in at a steady speed, holding down the tamper for a few seconds each time, and if you are juicing larger amounts of celery, you may want to stop and rinse the machine after each bunch to keep it from getting clogged up.

Carrot Anise Drink

This is one of the funkier juicer recipies, but one that is still very quick and easy to make. You just need 8 carrots, 2 anise stalks, 3-4 celery stalks, and 2 apples, and you want to juice everything in the order given.

These are just a few of the many juicer recipies that you can choose from, and remember that any juice you could find in a store you can make on your own with your juicer, only you will be getting much more nutritional value and without all the sugars and added preservatives that commercial companies put into their drinks.

A juicer will no doubt be one of the most versatile and useful kitchen appliances you will ever own, and if you do not already have one this is definitely an investment that you should make in the near future. You can juice all the fresh fruits and vegetables you want and make them into drinks to serve to yourself, friends and family.

There are millions of people across the globe, who wear contact lenses because they are much more convenient that wearing glasses. With so many contact lenses around you the question might pop in your mind about how do contact lenses work?

Demystifying The Use Of Contact Lenses

The contact lenses get fixed on the eye owing to the pressure exerted from the eyelids as well as the pull of the cornea in combination with tears produced by your eyes naturally. Every time you blink the contact lens would move up and down slightly allowing the tear to lubricate the lens from underneath, while expelling any debris found in the eye at the same time.

Now that you know how the lenses stick to the eye, we can go on and look up the answer to the question on how do contact lenses work. As you know the contact lenses are used for two main purposes – (1) for the correction of vision and (2) for changing the color of your eyes.

Changing the color of eyes is easy – all you need to do is wear a transparent or opaque contact lens of the color you wanted over your eyes and you instantly get different color eyes.

However, when it comes to the vision correction the answer on how do contact lenses work is a little more complex. The lenses are recommended for the same reason as the glasses, i.e. bad vision. This could be anything from presbyopia to farsightedness to nearsightedness, etc. In all these cases the light is not able to reach the retina of the eye correctly, hence the contacts (or glasses) are used to focus the light back on the retina.

There are different types of contact lenses for each of the different types of vision problems. This is why though the basic principle of how do contact lenses work is the same, even when the lenses are completely different from one another.

For example, if you suffer from myopia you would have lenses that are thick around the edges and tapering thin in the middle as this model brings the light in the perfect position on the retina. If you suffer from far sightedness on the other hand, the contact lenses would be just the opposite in order to correct the vision. In the case of astigmatism, your optometrist would give you unique measurements so your cornea would get a tailor-made lens to correct the eye-sight problem.

In short, the answer to how do contact lenses work is based on what imperfection your vision is suffering from. Each problem has different prescription, but the principle remains the same, i.e. the lenses are shaped in such a way that it would facilitate the light to fall correctly on the retina for crystal clear vision.

Many Generation X-ers have school photographs discreetly buried to hide pictures of themselves in their awkward stages in junior high. Many were photographed wearing large, round eyeglasses…perhaps with a rose or purple tint to the frame and lens. The 1980s only offered so much in terms of eyewear fashion. Today’s junior high students walk around in Invisiline braces and colored contact lenses and display their school photos proudly. Contact lenses are not exactly a recent development; however, they did not become mass marketed and affordable until the Gen-Xers were heading to college. Since the first pair of contact lenses was created, advancements in contact lens science have been consistent. Today, contact lenses can correct a range of vision problems and contacts can be worn by children as young as eight years old (though younger children may be fitted to correct serious vision problems). This article briefly explains the history of contact lenses.

Leonardo da Vinci considered the contact lens back in 1508 suggesting that a lens could greatly improve vision if applied directly to the eye. In the 1820s, English astronomer John Herschel considered fitting a lens to the eye and in 1887 a glass eye maker, F.A. Muller, fitted an eye with the first glass contact lens. In 1888, A.E. Zurich, a physicist, made a pair of glass lenses to correct his own vision and coined the term “contact lens. In the 1900s, the contact lens science went into high gear with many chemists, physicians, and engineers trying out different materials to make a comfortable, corrective lens. Plastic contact lenses were invented in 1938. In 1947, the first contact lens made of plastic that covered only the cornea was invented by American Kevin Tuohy. Throughout the history of contact lenses, constant advancements have been made.

Debunking Fact from Fiction in the History of Contact Lenses

Truths about contact lenses are as follows: soft contact lenses grossly outsell hard contact lenses; children can wear contact lenses as long as they are mature enough to take care of them, contacts do not cause eye infections if properly cleaned, and contacts can greatly improve peripheral vision.

Myths about contact lenses are as follows: contact lenses can get lost behind your eye, contacts cause eye infections and blindness, you cannot wear contacts to play sports, and contacts cause eye irritation.

The history of contact lenses is still being written. As long as contact lens wearers have regular eye exams, dispose of contact lenses as prescribed, keep contacts clean, and take care of their contact lenses and overall eye health, contact lenses can be a joy to ears- especially when compared with the alternative- eyeglasses. The history of contact lenses is evidence that the future of this industry will only be brighter.

Too often the lethargy we feel is a result of the polluted air around us. If you have young children then shopping for the best air filters is a good way to help safeguard young children from harmful germs and bacteria that floats around in the air. Pollen and dust are also major contributors to allergies and can make sleeping at night difficult.

To help ease your allergies and get a good night’s sleep it is time to look for the best air filters out there. Depending on your budget and what you want from your system, what qualifies as the best home air purifier will vary from home to home.

HEPA Filters

One of the best air filters out there are the air filters that use High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters. These filters work to absorb all the airborne particles that might be found in most homes, this includes mould, dust, pollen and bacteria among other things. The HEPA filters are so effective they can absorb up to 99% of the airborne particles in any room. This is what makes them good filters on vacuum cleaners as well.

Ionized Air

Ionizers are another popular form of air filter that some people claim are the best air filters available. These systems are completely different from HEPA filters. This type of air filter will release negative ions, or electrically charged molecules, into the air. When released these negative ions will wrap around positive ions that give a room the feeling of stuffiness and air that has a stale quality. The result is that the air in your room will feel charged, like the air after a thunderstorm has just cleared.

If you are looking for a feeling of freshness in the air then an ionizer is definitely for you. Other air filters will not have such a noticeable effect on the air quality in a room. The polluted air will also be drawn into the ionizer leaving the room cleaner.

Other considerations when you are deciding what fits the criteria of best air filters is how quiet the machine you are going to purchase will be. Many people can’t stand the humming nose that some air filters make. If you want a really quite model then you can look at filters that use electrostatic energy to clear the air.

Although electrostatic filters are not considered the best air filters they can still do a good job of cleaning a room. They can also cost a lot less than other much more expensive models and are also smaller and more compact in size.

If you like to make a lot of your own sauces, juices, dips and smoothies, the best thing to own is a juicer blender. A juicer blender will do almost anything you want to do in a kitchen except grind up bones. You can make your own pates, salsas, smoothies and milkshakes with the combination juicer blender. There are hundreds on the market and doing a little research will get you the best bang for your buck.

Making Juice

Making fruit is fun with a juicer blender. Most juicer blenders will already be assembled in the juicer mode when you buy it. So you must first peel your fruit or vegetables and slice them into chunks. Chunks always make it easier to grind and will keep your juice from being too chunky. Insert your fruit into the pusher and press your fruit down into the blender with the pusher. An extra wide mouth is always recommended for a good juicer. Turn the power onto whatever setting you feel most comfortable. The power number two is the most effective. Be sure and peel the hard fruits: apples, pears etc. before adding them into the juicer. Soft fruits such as nectarines, strawberries should be chopped and any pips should be removed before adding them to the juicer.

Blending

When using your juicer blender in blender mode be sure and follow the instructions carefully. Take the safety clips from the underneath and pull outwards until the clips are facing down and lift off the feeder chute lid and remove the juice-extracting tray and filter. Insert the accessory connector and make sure the raised sections are outward facing and are in line with the safety clips. Lift the safety clips and put them into the accessory connector and twist anti-clockwise until the blender is secure. The blender is now ready to use. It is very important that you follow these correct instructions. Cut the food into manageable pieces so as not to put strain on the life of the motor. If the blade jams turn off the unit and free the obstruction. Make sure the unit is locked into place or it will not work. Once you have finished blending, you must twist the blender clockwise and pull it away from the accessory connector to get it to unlock. Juicer blenders are great appliances and you will find that they are a great asset to any kitchen. Comparison shop on the internet for juicer blenders before purchasing and you will save yourself a lot of frustration and time.

Color contact lenses are the in thing today and the choice of millions of people who want to have their eye color changed for various reasons. There are many colors to choose from, dark brown, steel grey, sky blue, grey, sea green, hazel color and many others. The cost of these color contacts being very affordable, allows people to use it for esthetic reasons such as matching to the clothes, hair color, party, etc.

Why Hazel Contacts Does Not Suit All Types Of Eyes?

There are plenty of colors to choose from ranging from a vast palette of colors that work to enhance your personal beauty, to the horror based colors aimed for fun and parties. The technology is such that today you can get any color contacts you want at highly affordable prices. The problem with finding the right color for you is not the availability of lenses but matching the color to your eyes and complexion.

There are many people who would love to use hazel contacts but are disappointed with the end results. The reason for this is not the quality of the hazel contacts but the color of the eyes of the wearer. If your eyes are dark brown to black, then the regular hazel contacts would not make much difference to your eyes. If it does change your eye color it would be either greenish or bluish, which is a far cry from the hazel color you wanted.

Why Hazel Contacts Are So Ineffective?

It is not only hazel contacts that are ineffective, but all other semi opaque and transparent lenses too. For example, dark eyes do not have problems with only the hazel color but with all the light colors as well, such as light blue, light green, light yellow and so on.

In order to change the color of dark eyes you need to use opaque lenses which completely mask the color of the iris to give you the wanted results – in this case the hazel color. This is the only choice of lenses you would have if you want to have the perfect hazel color eyes.

In case you have any other color eyes (other than dark color) you would have broader choice of lenses such as semi-transparent, transparent and so on. The reason for this discrimination is that the transparent and semi-transparent contacts are unable to mask the dark color of the eye. At the best it combines with it to give a slightly different color.
