There are numerous places these days where you can find great items for any kind of home wholesale business. Since the Internet, the business owners now have it easier than ever to find good, profitable and unusual items to sell through their own business. Here is a brief overview of some of the best places to find great items for your home wholesale business.

1. eBay: Sure, it seems like an obvious choice. Maybe it is. But eBay is still one of the best places to find great items for your home wholesale business. There is a reason why eBay is called the world’s online marketplace. You can find just about anything on eBay, including unusual items that you can add to your own home wholesale business. On eBay’s recent wholesale lots page, you can now even buy or sell wholesale lots. These can include books, CDs, DVDs, toys, video games, apparel, specialty and gift items, and any other kinds of items that you can imagine.

2. Specialty Trade Shows: If you are serious about being a part of the wholesale business, you will eventually have to visit a trade show. Trade shows are great places to discover the latest in product lines. There are many specialty trade shows that specialize in new or unusual products and product lines. As a member of the wholesale community, you should make the effort to attend these shows. They can provide great inspiration and give you ideas for product lines and advertising. Also, attending trade shows are a great way to get to know manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, fellow wholesalers, and all other members of the wholesale community.

3. Online wholesale sites: This category can be a little tricky because there are so many sites that fall under this heading. There are many, many reputable sites that can offer you the best in new product lines and merchandise. Many of these sites can put you in direct contact with some of the most well-established and well known wholesale businesses in the planet. You can also get in touch with importers from overseas through the Internet, something that seemed like a fantasy only a few years ago. However, there are also many wholesale sites out there that are either mediocre or downright disreputable. It is your job as a businessperson and smart consumer to be able to tell the difference between the two.

4. Estate auctions and public sales: This is a rather unusual source to find items for your wholesale market, but you never know when you will strike gold. Estate auctions all other kinds of public sales are wonderful places to shop in a wholesale frame of mind. These types of sales often have a lot of wonderful merchandise for sale that is deeply discounted or at least somehow undervalued.

5. Closeout, surplus, and salvage dealers. Closeout, surplus, and salvage dealers are an unusual but often good place to go to find good merchandise for your home wholesale business. Like auction sales and some web sites, closeouts, surplus and salvage dealers can also be kind of a hit and miss affair. But when you do find something good, it can feel like you have won the lottery.

6. Flea markets and 99 cents stores. Again, these are often hit or miss affairs, but they can sometimes provide you with some of the best merchandise when you do find something you can use. Flea markets are somewhat unusual sources, but they can provide you with some good merchandise, especially if you deal in any type of antique goods. Moreover, 99 cent stores are somewhat overlooked sources for cheap merchandise.
